LIMITING DEVICE i have a 2002 conv ss camaro,automatic. can not break the 120mph mark without burning out. was told a limitting device was the reason. what is this, and how do i remove it.can it be removed? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Re: LIMITING DEVICE Some automatic cars cam with standard 16" NOT Z RATED TIRES. As per federal law (I think) If the car does not have Z rated tires (tires capable of 150+ MPH) then a limiter must be installed at the tire rate maximum. For the POS 16inchers, that limiter is 117 MPH.
To get rid of this limiter you will have to have it programmed out.
