Default Which software or re-programmer?

I plan a rear-end swap with 4.10's. So I will need some sort of reprogramer to correct my speedo. What do you guys recommend? Does AutoTap and LS1 Edit do it? Which is better and what do they cost? I could go for a Hypertech programer, but i think the money will be better spent on software that can also do engine monitoring functions. I know I will need a laptop to run some of the programs, but I don't have a laptop. What would a laptop cost that has the minimun specs to run these programs (most likely the laptop will be used for this ONLY). I have a "computer geek" friend that could probably round one up for me. Any opinions?

Ok here's the way I look at, hope I don't get slammed on too much for recommending hypertech but. If you are just doing the gear and aren't planning on going into the engine I'd just go with the hypertech. That said, If you plan on messing with the engine at all I'd reccomend the autotap. I bought a cheap little toshiba 650ct laptop on ebay for $150 and it does the job. But only buy from someone with alot of + feedback if you go the ebay route so you don't get ripped off. LS1 edit is way better than hypertech if you plan on hopping up the engine. But it cost a couple of hundred more bucks and you have to know exactly what your doing with it or you could screw up majorly pretty fast. That's my $.02 hope it helped...

The Diablo Predator is suppose to be a combination programmer/editor. Seems to be the best for your money. It is new though, so I would wait a little while for it to get updated and bugs to be worked out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
