where to shift with cam?

where to shift with cam? i have an auto and im loking at my dyno sheets... my peak torque is at 4300 and i dont really have a peak hp. it keeps raising and looks like it starts to level off at about 6600. i think the car is shifting at about 6300-6400 in 2nd and a little lower on the 1-2 shift. im not really looking down, im trying to stay on the road <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> on the shift, it drops down to about 5200. i still have the 3.23 gear and a vig 3200 if it matters. should i run the gear out longer? im planning on throwing 3.73s in soon so hopefully ill get to cross a little later in the power band. heres a video of the speedo and tach: http://home.attbi.com/~driveatransam3/quarter.mov

Re: where to shift with cam? You want to shift just past your HP peak and run out the traps about 500rpm past your HP peak (The last is a function more of gearing however)
With a true peak HP reading of 6600rpm I would shift the car at ~6800-6900rpm for 1-2 and the probably 6700-6800 for 2-3.

Re: where to shift with cam? shift points are best tuned at the track. 6400 is a safe point on a stock bottom end.
What cam do you have?
BTW, If you dynoed unlocked, the rpm information is not accurate.

Re: where to shift with cam? i have a comp 224 cam, similair to the tr 224. i dont have ls1 edit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> i would hate to have a place like speed inc do it and find out its worse off <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
