Ease is a great program. i had Atap first, then went to Ease and glad i did. ok, the first thing youre gonna want to do is create a couple custom Parameter sets of your own that you will use to collect data when you go out to record traces. here's how you do it:
1. launch Ease. get to the Main Task Selection (Quick Vehicle Scan, Scan New Vehicle, etc). at the bottom of that window is a Browse button. open it. This will put you at the main Scan Tool page.
2. in bottom left corner is Choose Parameter Set. open it
3. Assuming you've created yourself a User ID during the loading up of the software, if you click on User in the bottom left corner, the Login page will pop up with both Factory Default and your user name for choosable profiles. click your name and Login at the bottom of that page.
4. Click on User again under the Parameter Set window.
5. your User 'Choose Parameter Set' box that appears should be empty since you havent created any yet. go down to the very left again to the 3 icons just under the Hide Parameter Sets bar. the one on the left is to Create New Parameter Set. open it.
6. There will appear 3 windows: Source Parameter Set, Unused Parameters, Parameters in Set. on the left under the Source Parameter Set box is Factory icon. open it.
7. the Source Parameter set should reflect a huge list of sets in alphabetical order. select All Parameters, which should be the 2nd one on the list.
8. note that when you click on any Source Parameter Set that the available parameters will show up in the Unused Parameters. scroll down the parameters in the Unused box and select the following by highlighting it, then toggling the '>' button:
a. absolute throttle position
b. Air flow Rate MAF Sensor
c. average BPW Bank 1
d. average BPW Bank 2
e. Engine Coolant Temp
f. Engine RPM
g. Fuel Trim Cell
h. HO2 B1 Sensor 1 Voltage
i. HO2 B2 Sensor 1 Voltage
j. Ignition time advance- cyl #1
k. Intake Air Temp
l. Intake MAP
m. Knock Retard
n. Long Term Fuel Trim B1
o. Long Term Fuel Trim B2
p. Total Misfire
q. Vehicle Speed

i listed them in alphabetical order, but, you can arrange them in your Parameters in Set any way you like by simply choosing them in a particular order.
9. at the top of the page is the Parameter Set Name box. click in there and type out a name for your new set. call it something like Fuel Trims + WOT since my example set above is used to collect such data.
10.when you are done arranging and selecting, click OK at the bottom right. this will put you back to the SCAN TOOL main page which should reflect your new set in the Choose Parameter Set on the left side.

now, to put your new parameter set to use:
1go hook up to your car per instructions. after you have established Comm with the car you will get to the SCAN TOOL main page.
2. repeat steps 3 and 4 so that your User parameter set(s) youve created are showing in the Choose Parameter Set box on the left. click on it. To the right you will see your chosen parameters appear.
3. click the Hide Parameter Sets icon in the bottom left corner to get rid of your Choose Parameter Set box. this will widen your viewing area of the parameters to the right.
4. since you will have ~ 18-20 parameters or more, you will want to have them all showing by clicking the '+' icon in the bar just above your parameter set screen keep clicking it until all your parameters are showing.
5. now that you are ready to go drive and collect data, go up to the top bar of icons and click on the camcorder shape. this will get you into a mode where you can record as long as you wish. once there, go down to the bottom left corner and press the Record icon (red dot). you will know you are recording when you see the frame counter counting off/recording in the bottom middle window.
6. go on your drive. stop and go traffic, some WOT bursts, up hills, etc.
7. when you are done, stop and Save your recording. do so by touching the floppy disc icon in the bottom left corner. a window will come up where you can type a title to your recording and other comment info the select Save. LEAVE CAR RUNNING DURING THIS!!!
8. check that youve saved the recording by selecting the projection camera icon in the top bar next to the camcorder one. you should see your save recording by date, title, and # of frames saved. if it is not there, or something seems wrong, you are still in luck since the car is still running and program recording. close this window and get back to your recording. try to save again and repeat your check.
9. turn car off. program will automatically recognize the loss of communication. just close the program.
10. when you are ready to play back your recording, click on that projection camera icon again, then highlight your trace, then select OK. the play window will pop up. just simply start playing your trace by using the buttons at the bottom left and center of the page. you can vary the speed at which the windows will play (0-9), you can stop, you can set the speed to 0 and click frame by frame manually, etc. you will see.
1. have fun!!

hope this helps.
