Default O2 sensor output

I hooked up a A/F gauge to my front driver side O2. I then tried hooking it directly to the PCM because I didn't like the reading I was getting from the sensor itself. Well, they both gave me the same thing. At idle they seem to pulse. As the car warms up the pulse gets quicker. No matter if your in gear or neutral, the higher the revs the quicker the pulse. Under wot the gauge reads a consistant rich. The gauge is a digital Nordskog. What voltage range would this read in. I'm wondering if the gauge is set for 700-1000mv. Would explain the pulse at idle? Because it can't read that low. I have O2 sims. When I hooked the gauge to the output on the sims it givs me the same reading as wot. Is that normal. I have no SES light or any codes. If I can't figure this out I may just buy another O2 sensor and install it for use on the A/F gauge only. I think I might put a voltmeter on it and see what this bouncing gauge is really reading. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

It is normal for them to jump up and down at idle and cruise. At WOT they will steady out, the stock O2s arent very accurate for tuning at WOT though but can get you in the ballpark if you have nothing else. I have no idea what the voltage range for rich/lean on one of those guages is but I would guess 300mv-1000mv since 450mv is supposed to 14.7:1.

Are you trying to use the stardard o2's for the a/f gauge? Will not work! Wide band o2 is needed.
