Ease or Autotap?
Auto-tap is much slower, and the sampling rate is a problem.
Plus, you get to stick with something that you are already familiar with.
I know more people have ATap but I bought Ease Diagnostic www.easesim.com last year for Ford stuff it is professional bi directional etc $850 bucks.. He said Doug Rippey and Lingenfelter used it. That it was faster samppling and saw more parameters than Atap and Atap was a simple tool for individuals. So should I buy the GM pak for another few hundred bucks for switch to Atap? ANyone here familiar with Ease? Thanks!

I own and use the Ease GM Pocket PC, Personal enhanced and Pro versions for about 1 1/2 years.
Since I use scanners all day long after using other brands I found the Ease to be the best as to the user interface, it's ability to query all body and chassie modules and is stable in that I have not lost a link or recording once in over 2,000 Scans, thus I can trust it and that makes my job easier overall.
To do the new EPA IM 240 smog tests is as simple as clicking an icon, same for the 02 tests.
If you add the GM to your Pro version the new V2 has added some neat functions you'll enjoy using.
If I can help you in using it just send me an e-mail.
Thanks, they kind of ticked me off not including a $20 manual I guess 850 bucks was not enough to cover it Then to pay so much more for a simple password to unlock my CD... Oh well, nothing I can change.

Being I do not have a Ford, I do not know what comes on that C/D but for the GM versions, there is two manuals on the C/D and are installed in the Ease directory where it is installed on laptop.
They are PDF files and can be viewed on the PC or printed out.
Yes they use codes as to level of functions turned on, this way when a user wants to add more features or options a simple call to Ease gets a code and it's done you have features right away rather then having to wait for the vendor to ship you the features or options.
Since you already own the Ford version you would pay them less to upgrade to a Ford/GM version
rather the full price for a GM only version.
