What is the lowest safe idle? I did a H/C job on my C5, 224 single pattern on a 112lsa. I want to hear the cam after it is tuned. What RPM will never die or stall out yet still let me lope a little? Right now 750-800 has sound to it but it stumbles on occasion. What size hole do I need to drill in the TB to help it idle 3/16"?
Re: What is the lowest safe idle? Don't start drilling your TB until you have some sort of software to monitor what you are doing. If you have a friend that has A-tap, or EFI Live, or something that can monitor your IAC.
Ideally, you want to be able to you get your IAC count down to around 35 for the best idle. After H/C you are probably up around 95.
If you start drilling without knowing this perameter, most likely you will overshoot and end up with a car that takes forever to return to idle, or does not idle properly. Then you have the joy of epoxying your TB hole.
Drilling the TB should be done in VERY small steps.
