Default Wanted - MAF screen

Sorry for the intrusion... I'm not an LS1 owner, but I am trying to use an LS1 MAF sensor on my '87 Buick Grand National.

I purchased a used LS1 MAF sensor, but the previous owner(s) removed the screen. I believe this is causing some false readings in my application as the fuel mixture varies greatly with different engine speeds/loads.

I am hoping to find someone (preferably in the Houston area) with a MAF screen that I could buy/have/steal/borrow to see if it would clear up my miture problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'd try to borrow one first to see if that does the trick. I doubt you'll find anyone with a screen intact and if you do, it'd be almost impossible to put it back in.

Most people pop the screen out with their thumbs or a screwdriver which pretty much destroys it. About the the only choice would be to find a stock screened version.

Maybe find one from a local salvage yard if you end up buying one.

Good luck.

I found one for you, Greg. I'll pick it up tonight and drop it to you tomorrow. Already taken care of.

This is just a loaner, though. I might have access to another one permanantly if this corrects the problem. We'll see.

And welcome to our world! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
