knock retard What is the best way to find out if your knock is real or false. my truck has a 4 to 9 knock. if i take away the hppiii tuning or reduce the octane to 87 should that fix my knock. one of my mufflers is rattling so i want to find out if that is the problem. thanx

Re: knock retard If you have real knock you will hear pinging.Lower octane fuel would probably make it worse.False KR can be caused by loose components banging.Secure your loose exhaust and see what happens.
