Default IAT richens or leans the mixture

Hi does anyone know if the iat sensor richens the mixture when it is colder or hotter temperature. i am getting some knock retard some people say because i descreened the maf and leaned the mixture. i am trying to richen the mixture with a resitor on the iat sensor. thanks for your info!

The IAT will not directly affect fueling to the car. The IAT is used in speed density operation (open loop upon start-up, or "limp home mode") and for fueling adjustment reference.

I believe the IAT is used for LTerm reference and look-up, but does not participate directly in fueling calculation when in closed-loop operation (ie referencign the MAF and O2 sensors).
