Default if the car is tuned with LS1 EDIT.....

can i use a MAFT to lean it out some? I dont have ls1 edit but the shop i had my car at tuned it. Car is using way too much fuel at low rpms. at an idle you can smell it really bad after a few minutes. That and the fact i'm only getting like 130-140 miles out of a tank. <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> Anybody got any suggestions? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

you can use the MAF translator with LS1-edit but it shouldn't be necessary. You can scale your MAF table in LS1 edit to do the same thing the translator does. You take the percentage of change from the MAF translator and work it into the tables. If per say you were at +5 you would scale the table to 105%. Just talk to whoever had did your tuning they should know how to compensate for the problem.

Well i had taken it back already for this and they leaned it out some. the fumes are still pretty bad and so is the gas miles. Even they think i should be getting close to 200 a tank still. I have a techII and was watching it today on the way to work. My car seemed to be in the fuel cell 18 at idle and dropped to 10 or so while driving. is that normal? i'm just trying to figure out why my freakin gas has gone throught the floor after the mods. I'm about to look for a hole in the tank!!! <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

I've seen a lazy O2 cause this problem - running very rich and bad gas mileage. Watch the O2s on the scan tool when in closed loop. They should bounce all around, 200-900 mV +/-. If one of them is not bouncing, or seems to only bounce from 300-600 mV, then it could be bad.

This is where datalogging with a laptop, and then graphing the results, proves most helpful.
