HPP III with gear change?
Thanks, Jimmy
2000 Trans Am (Ram air)
Mods: SLP long tube headers, 3in y-pipe, and borla cat-back, whisper air box, Yukon 4.10 gears in about 2 weeks.
you can buy a used one(make sure the original owner set there car back to stock with it though)
any 2000 HPP3 will work on your car, but it has to be set back to stock
you can use HPP3 to change your gear settings with gear swaps(adjusts speedo and etc for ya)
orrr you can just buy LS1EDIT and have all the things HPP3 does plus unlimited tuning access of your car
if your set on HPP3, used they sell for 150-200 bucks. Make sure its a 2000 HPP3. Also make sure its been set back to the way it came. It can only be used on one car at a time. For example if you program your car and then decide to sell the HPP3. There is a option on HPP3 that allows you go go back to stock programing. You have to do that, then the HPP3 is ready for sale or use on another car.
If you want more info and/or a good price on the Predator, send me an E-mail and I will give you the details. If you end up with LS1Edit, then just make sure you get advice on what parameters to change and how much to change them. Either way, you'll be much happier in the long run. <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />
If you have no plans to do custom tuning, then the HPP3 will serve nicely to change gear ratios, rev limiter, shift points (A4). LS1 Edit would be nice; and if you have custom tuning aspirations it seems to be top of the line. However if you can pick up a used HPP3 for a good price it may serve you well. If it's a "must change gear ratios or shift points right now" thing, and money is tight, you may very well pick up a HPP3 cheap.
