SES P0404 EGR

SES P0404 EGR Hello,
I've had my Service Engine Soon light on constantly for many months now. I had it scanned at AutoZone right away and it came up as:
P0404
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance
Anyone ever get this code? Any idea what I should do about it? Some say I should take out the EGR Valve and clean it up. Would this take care of the problem?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: SES P0404 EGR I think your on the right track. I've heard of them getting clogged up and throwing codes. Probably just spray it out real good with some carb cleaner. Good luck with it...
