HPP3 Tuning Questions
<strong>Sorry folks, I am new to this. I have a 02 SS A4.Car currently has cat back and air box. Just bought the HPP3.Noticed shift points today at 5500 1-2 shift and 5800 2-3 shift according to the factory tach.Bumped the rev limiter up to 6600 and started playing with the shift points.Is the factory tach accurate? It hits the rev limiter at what appears to be 6200. Also, when I use the power tuning for premium fuel I heard some detonation at first. Does the computer have to learn the fuel curve or might I have gotten some bad 93 octane? Any pointers will be appreciated.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The power tuning is crap... it just raises timing, and it copies itself into both the higha nd low octane tables (so if you get bad gas, instead of the PCM retarding timing to save the motor, it will operate at the same timing advance.)
