Default Tuning Help.

I have a few tuniig issue that I want to get ironed out so that I can run my car with confidence. My car is a supercharged D1-SC 98 vette with 42lbs ford motorsport injectors and 60lbs of fuel pressure aith boost pump. Here are my symptoms:

When I step on it in 1st & hi rev in second or third my PCM throws code 1514 and my reduced engine power mode kicks in. I know this can be corrected with an adjustment of a table in LS1 Edit. But what percentage of increase should I give it?

Iam running way too rich in idle. My Ltrims are at -12.5 for bank 1 and -11.7 for bank 2. What Ltrim should I shoot for and How do I adjust for this in LS1 Edit?

Iam getting KnockRetard in High RPM and under boost. Iam running 93 octane gas and only about 6-7lbs of boost. What should I do to fix this, Reduce timing or make it richer during WOT? And again How do I make the Adjustments in LS1-Edit?

Any input or help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks

I'll start from the top. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Code 1514:

Make sure that you are using an LS1 Edit version of 1.1 or better.

Next you need to locate the table DTC1514 (Edit --> Engine Diagnostic --> Test Perameters --> DTC1514)
This table is sets the limits for the point in which your PCM does its sanity check on the MAF vs the TPS position. Being you are flowing so much more air with your blower, your car thinks that the MAF is not working properly, and is kicking you to the VE tables. The stock VE tables with a supercharger is bad mojo.
Select the points on the table for all RPM above when your supercharger begins to build boost. Multiply all these points by 100%. That should take care of your problem. If the code comes back in, multiply those point by 150% until the code clears. That will take car of your code. If not shoot me an email.

LTrims:

Your LTrims are fine, despite what the masses say. Leave them be.

KR in upper RPM:

You need an a/f of 11.4 across the board. Get on a dyno and wideband and make adjustments to your PE table in 2% step (multiply by 102 or 98). Increasing the PE vs RPM table richens your car, and Decreasing the PE vs RPM table leans your car.

You need to reduce timing as well.

Set your High Octane Timing as Follows (from stock table):

5600 - 8000 : 0.6 g/cyl - 1.2 g/cyl
Subtract 9 degrees of timing

5200 : 0.6 g/cyl - 1.2 g/cyl
Subtract 5 degrees of timing

4800 : 0.6 g/cyl - 0.96 g/cyl
Subtract 3 degrees of timing

4800 : 1 g/cyl - 1.2 g/cyl
Subtract 1 degrees of timing

5200 - 8000 : 0.56 g/cyl
Subtract 7 degrees of timing

5200 - 8000 : 0.52 g/cyl
Subtract 4 degrees of timing

2200 - 3600 : 0.6 g/cyl - 1.2 g/cyl
Subtract 2 degrees of timing

That will give you a pretty conservitive timing table. If you still have KR reduce all the above points by 1 or 2 until the KR goes away. If you still have KR with WOT timing at 17, then you need to start looking at other issues. If the above settings give you no KR, try increasing all these points by 1 until you encounter KR, then take one step back.

Good Luck,
Kevin

Thanks for the help I will get started on the adjustment tonight. I did figure out the 1514 code issue. I just set the entire table to 2000.
Iam not sure How important this trouble code is.

Should I revert to stock and change it according to your instructions or just leave it as 2000 so I never encounter this problem again?

If you no longer have the 1514 trouble code, then I wouldn't mess with the table anymore. As long as it works <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
The code is not that important at all, and not very accurate at all, even on a stock car.

Nice setup

Good Luck,
Kevin
