Is there ever going to be a USB connection for LS1 edit?

I have used the Belkin F5U103 adapter successfully with TTS Datamaster and LT1Edit, but haven't tried it with LS1Edit.

Keyspan appears to be the only company with fully MS qualified drivers. They also allow optimizations to keep the throughput as high as possible (with reduced compatibility ofcourse - but it is your choice). The problem with performance is the way USB operates. It is packet based and time sliced at 1ms intervals. Serial ports are interrupt based which means the data is read relatively soon after an interrupt occurs. Serial port applications also tend to send a character at a time which does not fit well at all with the USB packet/timing model.
The Belkin 103 will work with LS1 Edit without any issues but A-tap will not recognize the com port. I've also tried the 409 but it transfers at about 1/4 the rate of the Keyspan with LS1 Edit. My HP adaptor is 1/8 the rate.

I went to hardware profiles and disabled the modem, rebooted, and ATap has recognized my Belkin adapter ever since.
Hope this helps,
