Default LS1Edit newbie questions...

Hey Guys just read my PCM for Edit. Now I got some questions. How do I do the following:

-Disable EGR(I hit false but there is not "Apply Changes" button to make uit stick.)

-Disable AIR(I disabled something called COT, but not sure if that's right)

-Disable CAGS(There's enables, disables, and %TPS, I don't know whiuch one to alter)

-Eliminate my need for rear O2 sims(No clue where to do this)

Are there any other simple changes that a first time M6er can make? Thanks for your help guys,

Mike

COT is the cat over temp protection. ONLY turn this off if you do not have cats, as it will destroy them.

CAGS- just set it to an outrageous condition like enable only over 300 degrees and disable at 1% throttle and 1 mph.

EGR = false (you dont need an 'Apply' button to make it stick.

AIR- Just yank the AIR fuse or unplug it and delete the SES code that pops up for it.

Rear O2's- Just delete the codes that relate to the rear O2 sensors.

OK thanks, but I have a question. Let's take the EGR stuff for instance. Is it better to disable the EGR provisions by selecting 'false' inside Engine Cal->Test Parameters or to simply disable the the diagnostic test(Thrown code) under Engine Diagnostic->Hardware Diagnostics or both?

What are the advantages and disadvantages to each?

Thanks,
Mike
