Slight poping and cutting out at part throttle acceleration.... First it ain't your normal animal... 370ci, solid roller cam 252/260@.050 .650 lift 112 lsa.
WOT is fine.... when accelerating at part throttle I get a poping/cutting out/ almost like a lean mixture situation around 2500 to 3000 rpm but I'm not sure that's what it is. You can give it some more accelerator and it will clear up and go on.
Anybody got any input for this type condition???

Re: Slight poping and cutting out at part throttle acceleration.... If it was lean enough to cause popping and sputtering, smashing the gas would probably cause the engine to cut out entirely.
Sounds like a fueling or timing issue.
What is your part-throttle timing. Is it still stock? Stock timing (especially the EGR years 98,99,00) might be too much for a high compression motor.
What is your fueling setup? What size injectors are you running? Are you runing a custom intake? Have you changed anything in the intake runner that could be messing with the fuel atomizing. A car with a poor fuel pattern / wrong injectors / will run with the symptoms that you described.
