Default LS1 Edit - Idle Air?

Under Idle + Limiters what does the Idle Air (Running Airflow) do?

Thanks

John

Allows the engine to ... run at idle? Or keeps it from stalling? I dunno, just a guess. Probably keeps the idle RPMs at a certain level or limit by controlling the A/F mixtures? I really want a laptop so I can play with LS1Edit and Auto Tap.

I am thinking that as you increase the idle you also need to increase the values in his table so the IAC counts stay the same helping the idle to be more stable.
I have increased my idle from 550 in gear to 825 in gear which is a 50% increase. Unfortunately I have already drilled my TB to get the IAC down from 90 to where it was before the cam install which was about 30-35 in gear. I think this table might have helped with that.
If someone does not post with a definite answer than I will re-flash my PCM with this table modified and see what it does.

The LS1 Edit FAQ says that higher values in the IAC - In Gear table will provide a quicker idle stabilization for when your car is in gear or the the temperature is low.

It also said that for the counts, 255 means the IAC motor is completely open and 0 means its shut or at idle. And if you have a big difference between each of the idle modes, you can fall outside of the IAC's dynamic range?

close. the IAC controls the idle altogether. it is like the idle screw on a carburator. the screw on the throttle body is really just a backstop for the butterfly so it won't jam shut.
