Default Help With Tuning

I just installed a set of GTP Stage II heads and their pig cam(226/226 590/591 112)on my 2000 A4 and I have a few questions. First off the car runs great at WOT, but there are still some issues. The idle is set at 925, it was running good at 875, but it liked to die when I made sudden stops. The 925 idle seems to be better most of the time but I still get those occasional stalls, ussally at the worse times possible. Is this something I have to deal with since I got such a big cam or is there something I can do. We have reset the Idle airflow sensor, drill the trottle body, and played with the idle but it stays the same for the most part. The car also takes a few momments before the computer will take over idle on start ups. Any ideas are welcome!

What are your IAC counts like with the AC on/off, and what are they doing in the situations where the motor stalls?

Hey Chris,

I've been work with Travis on this.

His IAC counts are (warm engine) 40-50 in drive.

We drilled the TB 2 bits larger. I also adjusted the IAC park tables. That seemed to help for a bit, but still stalling out under deceleration. I added 2 degrees of timing down low as well.

Any additional help would be appreciated. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I think the Formula is just a little bitch. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

If you raise the IAC in gear value in LS1edit it might help with your problem. The IAC park position will just help stabilize the idle in park/neutral. The in gear value dictates what the IAC motor will go to when you let off the gas in gear. If you set it too high, the engine will idle too high in gear. This is something that most people play with on M6s (keeps them from stalling when they let off the gas from full throttle and push in the clutch).

It may be a bitch, but it is faster than anything you two have. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
