Default Where to set my rev limiter?

Since the search feature isn't working I was unable to find an answer so I will ask it for myself ...

I have a TR224 with a 112 LSA on Comp 26918 Blue stripe springs and Comp 7.400" pushrods. The rest of the valvetrain is stock, including retainers.

What should I rev it up to? I was thinking maybe shift at 6500? Or can I shift as high as 6600 w/ the limiter at 6700?

Also, do you guys think it's a good idea for me to set my rev limiter to 3000 when the temps are below ~130*F (using LS1-Edit) so I don't accidentally over-rev the engine when the springs are cold? In theory this would be a good safety measure but I realized that the shock of hitting the rev limiter might be worse than actually revving it up higher. What are your thoughts?

Default Re: Where to set my rev limiter?

try 6400-6500

i think most cams tend to peak around 6200-6400 so somewhere in there would be your best bet..

as for the cold temp rev... maybe just set that at 5k but you really dont have to.. just dont floor the car to redline right after you fire it up
