engine idle @ 1250
check for vacuum leaks,i have been having problem with egr tube sucking air at top of intake lately and 1 of the signs it is leaking is the higher than normal idle. Once bad enough you can hear the hissing. At least check it out.GoodLuck. My 2 cents worth.

I chased a high idle problem for 4 hours before I found a broken idle air control motor wire hiding deep in the mess.
The IAC would move, but one of the wires was broken, causing the idle to go from where it should be, gradually worsening, up to about 1200.
This was on a 93 LT1, so YMMV.
Good luck, I'd start by looking at the IAC very closely, especially if you have a scan tool handy.
