TB Bump Stop When you adust the bump stop with a digital volt meter what is the maximum dc volts before setting off codes and is the ignition in the on position when you are checking the voltage ?
Re: TB Bump Stop My Helm GM Shop Manal says the TPS DTC goes set at 4.65 VDC so I set mine at 4.64 VDC. It also says set the idle(closed throttle) value should be "NEAR" 0.60 VDC. I took the word "NEAR" to mean it could be a little above or below the nominal value. Do this with KOEO (key on engine off). I used a tiny sewing needle to pierce the insulation of the blue wire. Run a aligator jumper from the needle to the RED lead of your VOM and use a DIGITAL meter for the accuracy you need. One of those old analog SIMPSONS will only get you in the ballpark. Check the value OFTEN as you grind. When you get close to 4.64 VDC STOP grinding and BEND the throttle cam tab a tiny bit to get the last few hundredths of a volt you need to reach 4.64 VDC. That way you won't grind into never/never land or as some people refer to it as EPOXY CITY.
