Custom Tuning or Predator I'm an LS1 newbie so please go easy on me...Okay, I'm building a pro-touring 68 Camaro with an LS1 and T-56. What I need to know is if I'm going to need custom tuning or if I can do it myself with the predator or similair product.
Heres the setup
Cartek LS1 Stage 2-X Heads
Cartek "HS" Cam 224/224 112
Lunati Forged Racing Pistons 10.5cc
Bauer Ported Throttle Body
85mm MAF Sensor(Best one???)
Can I tune for this with the predator or am I going to need more??

Re: Custom Tuning or Predator Well, I have a Predator and personally I wouldn't use it for tuning....minor changes w/ gears, tire size, fans, rev limter I'd use it. But I'd seek a Tuner like when I get my cam installed. To nicely set my idle and adjust timing and air/fuel trims.
I have been tuned by the makers of the Predator, kinda cool being a template car....I seek their advise from time to time and they may be the ones to do my tuning in the future.

Re: Custom Tuning or Predator I have no idea, I am in Florida, ask around this board in the Eastern members section. I would suggest checking into Cartek because they are in Jersey and are selling some heads and cam packages...you will want to be tuned on a dyno.
But ask around the Eastern members about Cartek. Tuning can vary most shops charge a dyno fee per hour ranges from $100 to $125....It's not uncommon to pay between $300 and $500 for tuning like this.

Re: Custom Tuning or Predator Okay thanks, I'll look into Cartek..but what about MTI where you send in your computer for custom tuning? Good or Bad? I like both Cartek and MTI but was leaning a little bit towards the MTI setup over the cartek.
