Diagnostic Program
hey guys!
I just bought my Z28a couple of months ago and it keeps showing that Service Engine Soon Light. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> I have had to take it to the dealership lots of times. I am getting tired so i decided to invest in a diagnostic program. I know autotap is good but i would rather spend my money on future mods. So i ran into this GENERIC AUTO SCAN TooL KiT OTC OBD II Code Reader. I was wondering if any one had heard anything about it and if it is any good or not. Suggestions of other cheap diagnostic programs are also welcome. Please this is urgent coz my car is about to run out of its warranty period.
Oh by the way if anyone wants to see it here is the link to the seller

For that same amount of money, you can get this:
http://www.obd-2.com
and roll your desktop computer out to your garage (or run some additional serial port wire). This will pull trouble codes, yet do a LOT more than that little handheld jobber will.
That handheld thingy will ONLY pull codes. While that in itself is handy, I've seen other devices that do the same thing in the $50-$75 range. Heck, AutoZone will pull codes for free.
HTH,
