Shift Points

Default Shift Points

i just got my car tuned and my shift point might be a bit high they are at 6500 should i get them to like 6200 ?

IMO, shift points should be set where you are most comfortable - much like the rev limiter.

If you're uncomfortable with 6500, reset them to 6200 and don't worry about it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> You may be leaving some performance on the table (if you cam wants to be rev past there, for example). But if you're not comfortable at 6500, then do what you want, not what someone else wants. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

My rev limiter's at 7000 on a cam-only motor. Some people look at me funny when I say that - and I do hit it occasionally. But I'm OK with that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Just depends on your comfort level. I'm comfortable there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
