LS1 edit while out of the car?

LS1 edit while out of the car? Hey guys, I was wondering if I could take my PCM out of the car and take it to the tuner to get tuned so I don't have to find a way to get the car there? Would there be any reason why I couldn't take the PCM to the shop, and swap it into a car that is already there, tune the PCM then bring it home and put it back into my car? I'm swapping to a 12-bolt with steeper gears but the rear is already out of my car now. I'd like to somehow only have to make one trip across the state and tune the computer when I go to pick the rear up.
Any thoughts?

Bring the PCM with you... we can make the change for your gears. I built a standalone setup that allows us to program out of the car.
