throttle body questions

throttle body questions Is it normal for my car not to idle on cold starts? It doesn't die, but surges from 450-650. If I give it alittle throttle, about 1000 rpm for 10 sec. or so, it will settle down at 750 till it warms up and then it's fine. Is this normal, and how can I fix it? I don't have a cam or anything, just intake and cat-back. Also, is it normal for the t.b to still have grooves in it from porting?
