There's no need to change the rev limiter or shift points unless you install a big cam.

Definitely do not raise your rev limiter on a stock valve train.

What about shift firmness?
There are 4 levels of increased firmness: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.

Your stock rev is set at 6200, I personally feel you can raise it to 6300 with no issues. I set my shift for 1-2@+3, 2-3@+6 and 4-3@+9, with shift firmness at 75%. You will quickly notice that the tranny is much better at those settings and you in town driving is much more fun. I also am one of the few LS1 owners that has the power mode installed and I don't ping and I really have noticed an increase in power. You can play from there but I would not adjust the rev any higher than what I stated unless you put in some firmer valve springs. For what I paid the HPP III has been worth the gains. I also run a 160 stat and have the fans set accordingly. My motor runs nice and cool, even in traffic and I really like the responsivness I have gained. I hope this helps you guys.

I got about .1 to .15 improvement in ET & little over 1 mph more with the 1-2 & 2-3 both set at +2. I have a 2002 2.73 w/lid & cutout. I got another .1 improvement w/power tune & near 1 mph gain.

From what I've noticed, certain years, like 99s especially do not take well to the power tuning. I don't know if that is true, just something I've noticed.

I set my shift firmness to 100%. I would set it to 200% if it would let me It seems the 2002 has some aggressive torque management programming which kind of dampens hard shifts. So 100% may not be a preferable setting for yours.

Hope this helps.
