Default Custom PID's

Ok. i have had hp tuners for a few months now. im starting to get the hang of things, but the one thing that seems to elude my grasp is how to work with the pids, and create custom ones. i have read a few tutourials, and definitions, but i cant seem to get it all together. can someone explain to me in non rocket scientist terms how to work with these? or point me to a place to learn?

what issue(s) are you having setting up custom PIDs?

It's defined in the scanner help file in detail... basically you right click in an open spot in the table (need to have the sensors/PIDs you'd defining a custom PID for included in the scan as well)

Go to insert, user defined, configure user defined
Then you give it a name, abbreviation, units... then for the function, you click the ? next to the word Function at the bottom, and create your equation

Example, to have a PID that's the difference between IAT and ECT (not very useful but just an example)

You would look at the list of PIDs (using the ? next to Function)
then copy the PID values
so you'd get
[PID.5]-[PID.15]
which is ECT - IAT

then the logged value will be that
