i have been throwing code p0103 which is a maf high voltage code since i put my mass air flow translator on awhile back
but it only throws the code when i romp on it and bang second gear
well today i took it off and did a few 1/4 mile runs and it didnt throw it
also i noticed that when its plugged in and ignition is on but engine is off the ses light is on
but when the maft if unplugged and the ignitinon is on but the engine is off the ses light is off
what could be wrong with the maft to trip this code?

Are you adding fuel at WOT with the translator?

the 98s will throw a high maf code because that was an issue with some 98's.

Most guys didnt get the code till they added a lid. There was a TSB and you could go in and gm had an update for the 98 computer for that. most of the 98's were fixed or didnt have the prob. Looks like you have one of them that does.
