converter problem
John
Thats the misfire detection. The PCM is recording a certain number if misfires and it senses somethings wrong so it unlocks the converter. You can get EDIT and set those temps to a different value and fix that.
also cause of converter locking issues is ported MAF ends
John
But your definitly getting misfires and the PCM see's that as a issue and it is more than likely the cause of the verter.
Only other thing i can think of is maybe a bad shift noid or something?? Try posting in the drivetrain section so those gurus can help ya more.
Talked to another guy with the same problem. He changed the misfire temps and that seemed to work so I'm gonna try it. Thanks for the help.

When you received LS1Edit program you should have also gotten the User Guide with it. In it they address your problem. I believe it is on page 40 of the newest version. You can stop the misfire test from running all together by changing the temp, but a better way is to fine tune it so you don't get all the false misfires but will still warn you if there is a real problem.
I set idle, low and med RPM tables to 32000 and it fixed my misfire trouble, and I had it bad with my 3300 high stall converter. I live in the mountains and driving home on the back roads where my car would shift up and down alot, it was not fun to drive, I had to keep it in 3rd to lessen the locking hang ups. It is fixed now, it's like driving a different car now. THANK-YOU Carputing!
