Knock Retard Question

Hey guys im fairly new to tuning, I have an LT1 and i just got LT1 edit. I was wondering if a WOT is it normal to see as much as 5 degrees of timing taken out? I got rid of some of it with race gas, and i still think some of it could be fake also.. I have an exhaust leak/header leak (i dont know if that would do anything to the knock sensor) and i have an exhaust pipe rattling a little bit. Any suggestions?

No knock retard is good. Fix the exhaust leak, and start tuning from there. Pull a few degrees of timing from the tune if you have to. If changing gas etc... is making it pull less timing, then it seems to be real knock to me.
