Is it safe to raise the stock rev limiter? Just cuious because I've heard people on both sides. Just want more input. Thanks.

You can raise it some; I'm sure 6700 would be safe . . . I lot of people raise it that much. One of the GM engineers that helped design the LS1 said it could run at 7000 rpm all day. The engine is strong enough, but, at some point you also need stiffer valve springs to prevent valve float. The engine will wear faster too because the oil film thickness is a lot less at close to 7000 rpm.

I went to 6300 on stock valve train. Now with a TR224, 918 springs and hardened push rods I have mine set at 6800 limiter, shifting just over 6600. No problems.
