Hitting rev limiter on shifts?

Hitting rev limiter on shifts? My shift points are set at 6500 and the rev limiters are at 7000. It hits the limiters on the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift. I'm tuning and logging with EFIlive. Sometimes the log shows 71-7200 rpms on the shifts. This thing revs so fast that I'm thinking the trans is not completing the shift fast enough. How low can you set the shift time tables without hurting something in the trans? Or is there somrthing else I should be looking at to correct it?

First, set the WOT MPH value lower for 1-2 and 2-3 (so that it corresponds to an RPM that is much lower than your intended WOT RPM at each shift).
Then progressively lower the WOT RPM value for 1-2 and 2-3 until it shifts at the correct RPM without hitting limiter.
Remember: both WOT MPH and WOT RPM have to be met for the shift to occur.
The idea is to have the WOT MPH be reached first, so that only the WOT RPM triggers the shift.
Then progressively lower the WOT RPM value for 1-2 and 2-3 until it shifts at the correct RPM without hitting limiter.
