in your O2 sensor and you need to replace it.
if the response time of an O2 sensor is determined to be too slow the PCM will store a
DTC that indicates degraded O2 performance.
the O2sensors must be at least 600 degrees F
to run properly,they use a heater to get there quicker and stay there for opptomum performance.

Re: what does it mean when my heater performance bank2 sensor 1 has a trouble code? thanx cueball, i got under the car and found the o2 sensor plug lying on my header melting away <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> i pulled it off and the wires are still good just had to seperate them and tape up so they do not ground out , so know to go see if it works!
