Default LS6 Valet key HP drop?

I remember reading that when the Z06 came out, the Valet key dropped the HP down to something under 200. Any ideas how that is done?

I'm dropping an LS6 into my Mercedes and would love to have the option for low horsepower. I live in Las Vegas and the car will be valet parked fairly often and I don't want them to play with it.

Thanks,
Mike R.

Never heard of the Z06 with this feature. The ZR1 had this feature for use with the LT5 Engine. With HP Tuners, you can limit the rpm or mph to whatever you want.

OK, a ZR1 was the one. Knew that that feature existed, just got the model wrong.

Any ideas how to fake out an '02 LS6 to easily lower the power? Something I could do with a switch would be the best.

Open a sensor wire or stick a resistance into one to run it off scale? What would happen if the MAF was disconnected?

A mechanical stop added to the throttle body via a relay?

Thanks,
Mike R.

you need a way to trick the car into going into "limp home" mode, and I'm not sure which sensor would activate this. Otherwise, I don't know of an individual sensor that would reduce power, and still leave the car drivable. Disabling the MAF won't really effect performance much at all.
