!!!!!ASAP need to pass emissions/get inspected
My car is an 01 trans am and it is speed density tune using EFI LIVE, I have taken the MAF off and the DTC codes are P0102 and P0103 which are MAF sensor circuit Low and MAF sensor circuit High.
In the engine diagnostics I turned them to Non Emissions but the DTC is still there......the test resulted in being Not ready as my O2's, O2 heaters, AIR pump, and something else(don't have the sheet on my right now) was NOT READY.
So the test was incomplete--car NOT READY.
I tuned the car about 60 miles ago, the air pump is disconnected and set to be off, I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE engine diagnostics for the AIR PUMP yet.
I need to get the car inspected before I go up to Charlotte Sunday.. I can email anyone my recent tune file. PLEASE HELP!!!!
IF it is an absolute must I will re-install the MAF and turn the air pump on and re-tune it, as I think I jumped on the SD(MAFless) tuning bandwagon too soon)

AFAIK you have to put your MAF back on and have the MAF enabled in order to go through emissions.
Speed Density isn't an alternate method of driving, it's using the failover method in the PCM to allow us to run it.
Problem is.. if you turn the codes off completely, it won't fail over into SD mode. So only options I'm aware of:
1. If the EFI Custom SD OS allows for running SD without forcing the MAF to fail (not sure if it does, but I'm thinking it probably doesn't as the only purpose of doing this would be to fool emissions?)
2. Install your MAF, do a basic tune just for emissions, then go back to SD
When I brought my car in, I reinstalled my MAF and did a basic MAF tune to let it run properly
You will NOT pass with these codes... if they hookup the scanner and there's a code set... wether it's labeled as emissions or not in the PCM, you fail
Regarding turning the air pump back on and such... not necessary so long as you have the code set to not set an SES (only reason you have an issue with SD is that our cars require that the code be set in order to failover into SD)

got around that....
now how in the hell do you get around the MAF DTC's as they have to be reported for the car to run..
I know a guy running with the three MAF codes set to NOT REPORTED, how in the hell is his car running?? is it a custom OS in efi live??
