Default Premature O2 failure. Why??

What causes an O2 sensor to fail prematurely??? Running too rich, too lean??? Too hot, too cold??? I've had two go bad in the last 2,000 miles or so on a car with less than 50,000 miles. I'm running longtubes and an ORY if it makes a difference. Also, it's not been tuned yet.(Rich??) How do the OEM's warranty them for so long and actually make them last??

big cams lose a lot of VE in lower (idle-ish) areas. so instead of 50% you got 30%. without a tune, you're still dumping fuel that's matched for the 50% ve. that'd be 40% more fuel than it needs. it takes about a minute for a O2 to go bad. ever warmed up your car for more than a minute? how about sitting at a stoplight?

tunes aren't a luxury, they're mandatory, and dead O2 sensors are a 'tune stupid' tax
