runing lean and get pcm reprogramed I just read about some guys who took off the cats and they said by doing so the ls1 seemed to run a little lean. They also said that if you take off the cats that you should get the computer flashed. Well here is my question I have the slp loudmouth and pacesetter headers and no cats I am also going to spray it with a 100 shot of nos. I am afraid that if it is lean now because of no cats what if it goes lean with the nos to I could have problems. Should I get the computer reprogramed and if so who would be my best bet.

I would most certaintly have the car at least monitored for Air Fuel Ratio to see where it is at. You will need to have your COT disabled since you have no cats as well as your rear o2's unless you bought sims. You can start to slowly get into programing yourself or look at see if there is a sponsor close to you that does tuning.

reply I did get the sims. Um I talked to thunder racing and they said they could do the basic upgrade it it would be ok for 150 but for 150 I can get that roadrunner programer they have and do it my self I think. This is all new to me with the computer so any help is great

Without starting World War III...Why not buy LS1Edit (insert your programmer of choice) and start learning.
I did recently..and after much reading and help from terrific people like on this site I was able to do the basics
I am starting slow and have not muffed with the A/F and timing, but that is what I will be doing this weekend!
PS...Dyno tuning or at minumum a data logger like autotap is required to tune safely.

okay so this is my question, i have a 01 z28, a4. just bought it 2 weeks ago, and it has ses light. scanned it and it said i had a catylist problem. my guess was the cats are screwed up. can't you take the cats off and install o2 sims and be fine?
