Throttle Position Controller?

Is this related to the traction control system? Can I delete it without any ill effects anywhere else? Trying to make a wiring harness for a swap into a '73 and would like to simplify the harness as much as possible. I'd like to use the A/C out of the 4th gen and the cruise control and thats about it.

If I had to guess, it is the fly-by-wire controller that the computer uses to send the gas pedal position to the linkage-less (is that a word?) TB found on the vettes and newer LS2 motors. If not, it would have to go to the linkage "pod" that runs the cruise control. Not sure though.
