Default Codes caused by new cam affecting tune?

I installed a new cam, 243/249 ~.610 110lsa, and I'm throwing a few codes that I think are affecting my attempts to tune the car. It's throwing p0106 and p0121. I think it just throwing the codes because the map pressure is out of range from the new cam. Should I turn the codes off or what?

P0121 shouldn't have anything to do with your new cam. It sounds to me like you forgot to plug that bad boy in (TPS) that is, or its damaged and not getting signal. I'm not positive about this, but this could also throw off your MAP sensor because without a TPS reading, the PCM won't be able to tell when your in decel or accel ect...and incorrectly predict what MAP you should be at, therefore failing the rational test. You might want to look into your TPS and make sure its working properly and go from there.

Best Regards,
Adrian

There's a table in EFILive that reflects "acceptable TPS @ idle" that needs to be adjusted. If your TPS is at zero while idling at 900 rpms, it will throw that code.

My tps voltage is .59volts at 0% throttle postition. What if I set "p0121 error max map" to 100kPa and set "p0121 error min map" to 0kPa in order to dissable the test.

I don't think I have the table you are reffering to on HPtuners, or I haven't found it yet.

That's what I did. I am still waiting to hear if this was bad or not. I do know that once I did this, my LTFT's all went +8. I brought them down but know they don't go negative at all. Not sure if this change screwed something up. On a good note, it runs better know (drivability wise).

I think I got it fixed... I raised the "p0106 error MAP calculated max" table in the idle area (stock table was around 65kpa and my car had 75kpa at idle with this cam), and disabled the test for p0121 using the method I listed above. It seems to be running a little better, but I still have a long way to go getting this thing tuned.
