Tuning for headers
I am installing some long tube header on my 2002 ls1. I will be getting rid of the cats, rear o2s, and air system. I already don't have egr. I want to do some tuning for my setup so at least I won't get an SES light. Also, if there is anything else I should do while he's helping me that would be helpful for headers or overall performance without affecting durability or driveability. When i get a cam or power adder, I will do a dyno tune.
A friend of a friend has hptuners and the 02 year license and may be able to do this for me. I want to do my homework so that
So Far:
p0420 & p0430 - !Rear o2's
p0410 -!Air Pump
Remove Speed Limiter ( )
Should I do anything with knock desensitizing?
Should I get rid of any torque management?
Anything else I should have him do while I Am there. skip shifts already disabled, does my car have torque management that i should remove? Anything I should do for having slp maf, btw?
I don't want to cause too much trouble for him but Mainly the codes removed and anything else that is convenient.

Thanks a bunch on the codes, Should I have him do anything else that would be easy?
Such as knock desensitization, disabling any torque management, etc? Or should I just leave the rest alone?

Is your car M6 or A4 ? M6 delete cags, A4 torque management. Does your buddy have a wideband O2? If so, it wouldn't hurt to rescale your ve table if he has time. The SLP MAF however, needs to be delt with. On a totally stock car with the stock fat *** PE table, it (the SLP MAF) leans it out, essentially lies. Now that you are putting on the LTs, you are just starting to significantly change the cars' ability to breath (VE). The LTs alone don't warrant tuning by themselves as has been proven for years but, if you insist on keeping that SLP MAF I would first get rid of the "extra" resistor-get somebody who knows how to do this properly as you can dammage the remaining componets. That extra resistor adds a load that causes the MAF ckt to draw more current that long story short makes you lean. Desolder the resistor and put the car in Open Loop Speed Density (OLSD)(MAF unplugged) with LTRIMs off, massage the VE table, bring the MAF back on line and rescale it and your car will be alot happier. If your buddy doesn't have the WideBand then throw the stocker MAF back on and don't put it back on until you can deal with it properly.
P.s. I believe JimmyBlue had posted some pics of the SLP resistor. search.
