Initial start problems....5.3/turbo need help
I just need to get it to idle and rev ok before i hook the wideband up to it.
I have turbonetics 42 (i think, maybe 43#) injectors. I have someones scale off the BIN file download page w/ 42# injectors on a turbo ls1.
Any pointers to make a program to get this pile to start easy and idle ok?
Im wont take it anywhere so dont suggest it. And does anyone know what exact size turbonetics injectors are? 42 or 43# and does it matter much? its also got the edelbrock victor intake with a custom made elbow/plenum, if that effects anything for idling and startup??
thanks.
here is what i have in there now.
40.42754 40.73757 41.35762 41.48163 41.66765 42.16369 42.22570 42.59773 42.78374 43.09377 43.15578 43.40380 43.65182 43.96185 44.02385 44.27187 44.27187
and changing that all to 42 should help? I'll try it and see.
thanks.

For example if you're engine coolant is at 80*F when you start it and your OLFA table says to run 20% richer than stoich or 0.800 lamda then that's a big source of your extra fuel.
Your start-up enrichment & decay tables add a % on top of that already rich mixture.
I like to use ECT/CTS trickers to fool the PCM about the engine temp. One ghetto way to do this quick in a pinch is simply heat up the ECT sensor before you start the engine. You'll avoid some of the extra fuel first thing and maybe get to the point where the engine will warm up and try to go closed loop. At that point it can start applying negative fuel trims to clean up the idle.
