Default 98 pcm to 99 pcm

Hey, cna this be done by just swapping the pcm or will i need to swap other parts like sensors, wiring harness's or grounds?

I ask becuz im in the middle of swapping to a 4l80e trans and wanted to use the stock pcm to control the trans. I got a reply that i couldn't use my 98 pcm becuz it has a single segment design.

Is this true or can i use the 98 pcm with the trans? If not, which it seems logical that i cannot, can i do the swap to a 99 pcm and not have a huge headache doing the swap? If so, my only option is the TCI box and that is money i would rather save for a nos kit.

thanks ya'll!!

swapping is very hard and expensive, near impossible

you just have to get the diagram of the pinouts, if they are different which they are, you will just have to change where the wires go on the pcm. i believe just about every pinout is different from 98 to 99-02.

Completely true, most every wire changes position and most swap from the red to blue connector as well.

You need to also change the ECT sensor, but that's almost too easy.
