Vinci/VHP Tuner Help Needed
Vinci/VHP Tuner Help Needed They are closed, so I thought I'd post here for some assistance.
Basically, right out of box, it wont turn on.
I followed the instructions where: 1) Plug cable to tuner. 2) Turn key to ON (engine off) position. 3) Plug cable to OBDII port.
Nothing happens. LCD is blank.
Battery reads between the hatched yellow area and the mid-line mark. They say to have a fully charged battery. Could this be my issue?
They also state on the document:
"If your vehicle will not communicate with the tuner, or locks up during tuning, remove the two gray star connector caps from the white terminal ends located under the carpeted panel on the passenger side forward, adjacent to the transmission tunnel. Jump the purple and dark green terminals together with a paperclip, in the 10 pin terminal end. Leave the 4 pin terminal alone with the star connector removed during the tuning operation. When you have completed tuning, carefully replace the star caps on both terminal ends, insuring the caps are fully seated. A click will be heard at this point. You may need to repeat this procedure any time you are tuning."
To start, I don't know what carpeted panel they are referring to. If I could find it the instructions seem straight forward. Or do you guys think I should just wait and call them tomorrow?

Vinci fixed me up this morning in record time.
For anyone using search on this, I'll post the results.
Basically I toasted my cigarette lighter fuse when I tried plugging a vacuum into it (hello adapter under the passenger cup holder).
The OBDII needs this to interact with the PCM.
Replaced fuse, tuner fired right up.
Car is a beast now >)
