Default Restoring stock tune - LS1edit/Tech II

A friend of mine recently bought a 2001 Camaro SS with bolt-ons. The camaro has been tuned by a local tuner using LS1edit when it used to belong to its previos owner.

For some reason my friend wants the stock tune back. He asked me if there is any difference between using LS1edit to restore the stock as opposed to taking it to the dealer, flashing the PCM and using Tech II to restore the stock tune.

Didn't really know the answer to that.. I was sure though that someone here probably has an idea..

you can download a stock tune online from that year and model car, but thats about it unless you asked the tuner to save the stock tune, which most do. so you could ask the tuner about it

there is no difference, except with ls1edit you must have the stock tune to flash it back to stock. with the dealer they just look up the model car and flash it

I love the way the words "the stock" are lined up on the initial post..

tech2 will usually have the most current cal from GM whereas a stock tune found off the net might have an older cal, otherwise its pretty much the same ****.
