Default SES Light Flashing, PLEASE HELP!

Today I started my car and noticed it was running very rough, so I took it around the block and it was running terrible. As soon as I stopped the SES Light started flashing, the car was misfiring and the smell of gas is very strong. I have Pacesetter LT's w/ a O/R y-pipe and o2 sims, and I just got back from a 1000 mile road trip. Do you guys have any advice? Thanks.

I checked the plugs, there all on tight. Do you guys think I need new spark plugs? They are 6 years old (55.5K on them). I can't check the codes unless I go to NAPA, but I don't think its a good idea to drive the car with the SES flashing.

Question

Are all the other wires attached to everything...??? have you changed your fuel filter in 10,000 miles..if you get gas at crappy stations it could be clogged...

ha. you diagnosed your own ses flash. it flashes whenever there is a bad enough misfire to affect catalytic covnverter efficiency. also, if you drive the car hard, it could be time for new plugs.

6 years on the stock plugs? i hope not tr55s! Either way change them out. im guessing you are running rich from the headers and fouled out the old plugs which at 55k probably didnt take to long to do.

Ok, I found out what was wrong, one of the spark plug wires was rubbing against my right header and it burned through the outer coating. So open wires were rubbing against the metal, causing the misfire. I'm changing the wires tomarrow.
