Default Recover PCM

Is it possible to recover a pcm that has lost its memory? I got DTC P0601 which calls for the PCM to be replaced. So far I'm trying to locate a new/used PCM for a 1998 Formula.

I had the same problem. I sent it to wait4me and he sent it back saying that it was fixed. I put it in the car and I got the same code again. I sent it back to him again and it has been with him since June 2nd. I sent him an e-mail for an update on June 16th and still haven't heard anything. I have a loner in there now to get me by. Let me know how it pans out for ya.

I found a 1998 PCM at a local dealer...now to see if they can program the dang thing without me towing my car to them. "Pain in the ****!"

symptoms, the car will not start!

Call them..I spoke with a lady yesterday I think...bottom line is you have to get a new PCM if you threw the code I did. Dave at Carputing told me to do that from the get go.

If you throw a checksum code on a 98 pcm, it is toast.
