Default Difference between '98 and 99+ PCM?

What is the difference between a 98 LS1 PCM and a 99+ that it falls into a PCM tunner limbo? Is there any way to convert a 98 to 99+ PCM? Is there an advantage to a 99+ PCM performance wise?

they are just the only year to use that cpu. they are a little special, but given that they are only one year that is why the tuners are so uncommon.

I am having the same problem with my 98 TA. I know hypertech makes a tuner but I dont know if there is a better one out there. If there is a better one out there let me know because I really havent done my homework yet and I plan on purchasing one in the next month or so.

Buy hptuners or efilive, few a couple hundred more than a hypertech or any other hand held tuner. Must better tuning solution.
